Dear President Trump..... Just in case you didn't know.....

3 Branches of U.S. Government infographic

How the U.S. Government Is Organized

The Constitution of the United States divides the federal government into three branches to ensure a central government in which no individual or group gains too much control:
  • Legislative – Makes laws (Congress)
  • Executive – Carries out laws (President, Vice President, Cabinet)
  • Judicial – Evaluates laws (Supreme Court and other courts)
Each branch of government can change acts of the other branches as follows:
  • The President can veto laws passed by Congress.
  • Congress confirms or rejects the President's appointments and can remove the President from office in exceptional circumstances.
  • The Justices of the Supreme Court, who can overturn unconstitutional laws, are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
The U.S. federal government seeks to act in the best interests of its citizens through this system of checks and balances.

Legislative Branch

The legislative Branch enacts legislation, confirms or rejects Presidential appointments, and has the authority to declare war.
This branch includes Congress (the Senate and House of Representatives) and several agencies that provide support services to Congress. American citizens have the right to vote for Senators and Representatives through free, confidential ballots.
  • Senate – There are two elected Senators per state, totaling 100 Senators. A Senate term is six years and there is no limit to the number of terms an individual can serve.
  • House of Representatives – There are 435 elected Representatives, which are divided among the 50 states in proportion to their total population. There are additional non-voting delegates who represent the District of Columbia and the territories. A Representative serves a two-year term, and there is no limit to the number of terms an individual can serve.

Executive Branch

The executive branch carries out and enforces laws. It includes the President, Vice President, the Cabinet, executive departments, independent agencies, and other boards, commissions, and committees.
American citizens have the right to vote for the President and Vice President through free, confidential ballots.
Key roles of the executive branch include:
  • President – The President leads the country. He/she is the head of state, leader of the federal government, and Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces. The President serves a four-year term and can be elected no more than two times.
  • Vice President – The Vice President supports the President. If the President is unable to serve, the Vice President becomes President. He/she can serve an unlimited number of four-year terms.
  • The Cabinet – Cabinet members serve as advisors to the President. They include the Vice President and the heads of executive departments. Cabinet members are nominated by the President and must be approved by the Senate (with at least 51 votes).

Judicial Branch

The judicial branch interprets the meaning of laws, applies laws to individual cases, and decides if laws violate the Constitution.
The judicial branch is comprised of the Supreme Court and other federal courts.
  • Supreme Court – The Supreme Court is the highest court in the United States. The Justices of the Supreme Court are nominated by the President and must be approved by the Senate (with at least 51 votes). Congress decides the number of Justices. Currently, there are nine, though there is one vacancy. There is no fixed term for Justices. They serve until their death, retirement, or removal in exceptional circumstances.
  • Other federal courts – The Constitution grants Congress the authority to establish other federal courts.

Our government is made up this way so that no one person has control.  There are checks and balances...... You cannot continue to fire people until you have the puppet government you want.... The American people will not put up with it.... and from what I have seen in the news lately, keep going the way your going... and this will only be the beginning..... The American people are watching you closely.....

Ok..... So this will be on the politics of the justice system.....

I was watching "48 Hours" tonight... it was about a woman that was killed by her boyfriend... the woman worked for weight watchers... and the boyfriend was an Ivy League educated Lawyer....
One of the biggest things that stick in my craw, besides the fact that this lovely woman was murdered by her boyfriend,  was the defense trying to get this guy off on an Explosive Anger defense... because of his horrible childhood, and his mother abandoning him....  Now this isn't the first time I've heard bad people using their "horrible childhood" as a defense..  I believe this is a cop out... I myself had a horrible childhood.... but other than a few quirks that I have, and some depression... I don't go around killing people....  Your child hood you have no control of... but when you become an adult, your choices are your own....  That's not to say that there aren't crimes of passion... but those are things that happen at that moment...  not planned...

That's not to say that there aren't people with mental illnesses, and it really doesn't matter how they were brought up, they have problems... and hopefully that would be recognized earlier in their life and treated... Nothing is 100%....

In a perfect world, right.... people would all accept responsibility for their actions.... and all people would get the help they need....

Anyway that's my short little rant ....
Have a great day....

8/4/16

So today watching the news ..... two things popped out....

The first was a story that caught my attention was the story that is being blown out of proportion is money being transferred to Iran..... and prisoners being released from Iran... I believe..... Now I remember back in the 70's, when there was the revolution and the Ayatollah Khomeini took over Iran, the U.S. seized their funds that were in our banks....    So I don't believe we paid a ransom for the prisoners.... we negotiated to release their funds back to them..... And I remember a big hub bub and up roar... because some of the people here (in the U.S.) saw that as one step closer to government rule.....like if they could seize a foreign powers funds... how long before the government starts taking ours for what ever they deem reasonable to do so....    now I will say this was my interpretation of the situation 37 years ago.... in 1979.....  and I was young at the time, 24 years old....

Now the other story was Donald Trumps interpretation of what he thinks women should do if their being harassed at work, by what he believes he daughter would do.....

Does he realize what the real world is like?  Does he know that a lot of women are the soul support of their homes, for their families.. and you can't just quit.... It is just crazy how out of touch with the average women he is...... even two parent households/two people households,  need two incomes to make ends meet..... Of course Trumps daughter, and other people on his team are trying once again trying to smooth things over...

Now I have a big question.... who is going to be running our country if he gets elected?? The Donald.... his kids????  his team trying to get him elected.... this whole thing reminds me of a movie, where a puppet, or front man is elected, and all these other nefarious people that couldn't get elected on a bet are actually going to make the decisions.... kinda scary to me....

Anyway those are my thoughts on the two news headlines that caught my attention today....

Hillary's acceptance speech was very uplifting last Thursday night...8/28/16...... she said what she wanted to do and gave some ways she planned on doing them.....  It was refreshing to hear.....  She also reminded us, or in my case informed us of things she has accomplished through out her lifetime up to now.......

So here are more promises from Trump......

6. Get rid of Obamacare and replace it with something "terrific" that is "so much better, so much better, so much better."

7. Knock down the regulatory walls between states for health insurance, making plans available nationally instead of regionally.

8. Rebuild the country's aging infrastructure -- especially bridges and airports that look like they belong in a third-world country -- for one-third of what the United States is currently paying for such projects.

Republican candidate Donald Trump's platform: Because I said so]

9. Save Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security without cutting benefits.

10. Defund Planned Parenthood.

11. "I will take care of women, and I have great respect for women. I do cherish women, and I will take care of women."

12. Frequently use the term "radical Islamic terrorism."

13. Temporarily ban most foreign Muslims from entering the United States "until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on." Trump would allow exceptions for dignitaries, business people, athletes and others who have "proven" themselves.

14. Bar Syrian refugees from entering the country and kick out any who are already living here. Trump says wealthy Persian Gulf nations like Saudi Arabia should pay to set up a heavily guarded "safe zone" in Syria.

15. Heavily surveil mosques in the United States. Trump has said he's open to the idea of closing some mosques.

16. Create a database of Syrian refugees. Trump hasn't ruled out creating a database of Muslims in the country.

17. Never take a vacation while serving as president.

18. Prosecute Hillary Clinton for her use of a private e-mail server while serving as secretary of state.

19. Make medical marijuana widely available to patients, and allow states to decide if they want to fully legalize pot or not.

20. Stop spending money on space exploration until the United States can fix its potholes. Encourage private space-exploration companies to expand.

21. Pick Supreme Court justices who are "really great legal scholars."

22. Ensure that Iowa continues to host the nation's first presidential nominating contest.

23. Strengthen the military so that it's "so big and so strong and so great" that "nobody's going to mess with us."

24. Be unpredictable. "No one is going to touch us, because I'm so unpredictable."

25. Allow Russia to deal with the Islamic State in Syria and/or work with Russian President Vladimir Putin to wipe out shared enemies.

26. "Bomb the s--- out of ISIS." Also bomb oil fields controlled by the Islamic State, then seize the oil and give the profits to military veterans who were wounded while fighting.

27. Target and kill the relatives of terrorists.

28. Shut down parts of the Internet so that Islamic State terrorists cannot use it to recruit American children.

29. Bring back waterboarding, which the Obama administration considers torture. Trump has said he's willing to use interrogation techniques that go even further than waterboarding. Even if such tactics don't work, "they deserve it anyway, for what they're doing."

30. Leave troops in Afghanistan because it's such "a mess." Protect Israel. And increase U.S. military presence in the East and South China Seas.

31. Find an "out" clause in the Iran deal and then "totally" renegotiate the whole thing.

32. "I promise I will never be in a bicycle race. That I can tell you." (This promise is connected to criticism of Secretary of State John F. Kerry, who was injured while riding a bicycle amid the Iran negotiations.)

33. Refuse to call Iran's leader by his preferred title. "I guarantee you I will be never calling him the Supreme Leader... I'll say, 'Hey baby, how ya doing?' I will never call him the Supreme Leader."

34. Negotiate the release of all U.S. prisoners held in Iran before taking office. (Five hostages were recently released, including Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian; Trump has taken some credit for this.)

35. Oppose the killing of journalists: "I hate some of these people, but I would never kill them."

36. Find great generals -- like the next Gen. Patton or Gen. MacArthur -- and do not allow them to go onto television news shows to explain their military strategy: "I don't want my generals being interviewed, I want my generals kicking a--." Trump likes generals who are rough, foul-mouthed and beloved by their troops.

37. Drop that "dirty, rotten traitor" Bowe Bergdahl out of an airplane into desolate Afghanistan without a parachute.

38. Fire "the corrupt and incompetent" leaders of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and dramatically reform the agency. Allow veterans to take their military identification card to any medical facility that accepts Medicaid patients to receive care. Embed satellite VA clinics in rural hospitals and underserved areas, and ensure than every VA hospital is permanently staffed with OBGYN doctors.

39. Invest more heavily in programs that help military veterans transition back to civilian life, including job training and placement services. Also increase funding for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries and mental health issues. Veterans who apply for a job at a VA facility will have five points added to their qualifying scores.

40. Bring back jobs from China -- and Mexico, Japan and elsewhere.

41. "I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created." Trump says cities like Reno, Nev., will "be a big fat beautiful beneficiary" of these new jobs.

42. Students at Wofford College in South Carolina, where Trump attended a town hall, will all have jobs at graduation.

43. Aggressively challenge China's power in the world by declaring the country a currency manipulator, adopting a "zero tolerance policy on intellectual property theft and forced technology transfer" and cracking down on China's "lax labor and environmental standards."

44. Rather than throw the Chinese president a state dinner, buy him "a McDonald's hamburger and say we've got to get down to work."

45. Replace "free trade" with "fair trade." Gather together the "smartest negotiators in the world," assign them each a country and renegotiate all foreign trade deals.

46. Put billionaire hedge fund manager Carl Icahn in charge of trade negotiations with China and Japan, and pick an ambassador to Japan who is "a killer," unlike the current ambassador, Caroline Kennedy.

47. Tell Ford Motor Co.'s president that unless he cancels plans to build a massive plant in Mexico, the company will face a 35 percent tax on cars imported back into the United States. Trump is confident he can get this done before taking office. (Last year he incorrectly said this had already happened.)

48. Force Nabisco to once again make Oreos in the United States. And bully Apple into making its "damn computers" and other products here.

49. Impose new taxes on many imports into the country. Numbers thrown around have included 32 percent, 34 percent and 35 percent.

50. Grow the nation's economy by at least 6 percent.

51. Reduce the $18 trillion national debt by "vigorously eliminating waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government, ending redundant government programs and growing the economy to increase tax revenues."

52. Cut the budget by 20 percent by simply renegotiating.

53. Get rid of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

54. Simplify the U.S. tax code and reduce the number of tax brackets from seven to four. The highest earners would pay a 25-percent tax. The corporate tax rate would fall to 15 percent. Eliminate the "marriage penalty" for taxpayers and get rid of the alternate minimum tax.

55. No longer charge income tax to single individuals earning less than $25,000 per year or couples earning less than $50,000. These people will, however, be required to file a one-page form with the Internal Revenue Service that states: "I win."

56. Ensure that Americans can still afford to golf.

57. Allow corporations a one-time window to transfer money being held overseas, charging a much-reduced 10 percent tax.

58. Get rid of most corporate tax loopholes or incentives, but continue to allow taxpayers to deduct mortgage interest and charitable donations from their taxes.

59. On his first day in office, Trump would get rid of gun-free zones at military bases and in schools.

60. Use "common sense" to fix the mental health system and prevent mass shootings. Find ways to arm more of the "good guys" like him who can take out the "sickos." Get rid of bans on certain types of guns and magazines so that "good, honest people" can own the guns of their choice.

61. Impose a minimum sentence of five years in federal prison for any violent felon who commits a crime using a gun, with no chance for parole or early release.

62. Fix the background check system used when purchasing guns to ensure states are properly uploading criminal and health records.

63. Allow concealed-carry permits to be recognized in all 50 states.

64. Sign an executive order calling for the death penalty for anyone found guilty of killing a police officer.

65. Provide more funding for police training.

66. And provide more funding for drug treatment, especially for heroin addicts.

67. On the first day in office, terminate President Obama's executive orders related to immigration. This includes getting rid of "sanctuary cities" that Trump says have become refuges for criminals.

68. Deport the almost 11 million immigrants illegally living in the United States.

69. Triple the number of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

70. Continue to allow lowly paid foreign workers to come to the United States on temporary works visas because Trump says they are the only ones who want to pick grapes.

71. End birthright citizenship.

72. Say things that are politically incorrect, because the country does not have time to waste with political correctness.

73. Make America great again -- and strong again, as it has become too weak.

74. Be a cheerleader for America and bring the country's spirit back. "Take the brand of the United States and make it great again."

75. Bring back the American Dream.

76. Start winning again. "We're going to win so much -- win after win after win -- that you're going to be begging me: 'Please, Mr. President, let us lose once or twice. We can't stand it any more.' And I'm going to say: 'No way. We're going to keep winning. We're never going to lose. We're never, ever going to lose."

So if anyone has any ways Trump has said he is going to accomplish these promises .... Please send me the info....

2. Make Mexico pay for the wall. If Mexico refuses, then the United States will impound all remittance payments taken from the wages of illegal immigrants, cut foreign aid, institute tariffs, cancel visas for Mexican business leaders and diplomats, and increase fees for visas, border-crossing cards and port use.

This should have been added to the last post... I pretty much addressed the highlighted sentence in that post...

He could increase the fees and cancel visas, foreign aid, and institute tariffs, but what would that really accomplish...other than making people angry....

3. "If I become president, we're all going to be saying 'Merry Christmas' again."

This is happening all on it's own..... We the People don't need his help on this one.... We just need to stand up for what we believe... not just every 4 years, but every day.....

Social media is such an amazing thing, and we should organize to make good things happen, not just bashing other people....

4. Get rid of Common Core because it's "a disaster" and a "very bad thing." Trump says he wants to give local school districts more control and might even eliminate the Department of Education.

I had to do some research I honestly  did not know what this was.... so I included this website in case there were others reading this that needed more info....

Common Core Explained...
http://www.coreexplored.com/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwlNy8BRC676-W0JezxbwBEiQA4Ydg0SFnhfX_kXMILt2PQQIvOfn8MeS--e3H6gBYCUTzswwaAv_S8P8HAQ

You can't just do away with something without replacing it with something else.... I believe the schools need to increase the standards ... The school boards have dumbed down Text books and handcuffed teachers for years, since 1973 to my recollection.... now they have the hard job of fixing their errors.... Not an easy job....

So give us an idea how your going to fix this not just "I'm gonna get rid of Common Core"  Maybe this isn't a bad thing, it just needs to be revamped, realistically.....

5. The Environmental Protection Agency might also disappear.

Our Mission

The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment.
EPA's purpose is to ensure that:
  • all Americans are protected from significant risks to human health and the environment where they live, learn and work;
  • national efforts to reduce environmental risk are based on the best available scientific information;
  • federal laws protecting human health and the environment are enforced fairly and effectively;
  • environmental protection is an integral consideration in U.S. policies concerning natural resources, human health, economic growth, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry, and international trade, and these factors are similarly considered in establishing environmental policy;
  • all parts of society -- communities, individuals, businesses, and state, local and tribal governments -- have access to accurate information sufficient to effectively participate in managing human health and environmental risks;
  • environmental protection contributes to making our communities and ecosystems diverse, sustainable and economically productive; and
  • the United States plays a leadership role in working with other nations to protect the global environment.

This is not a bad thing, but maybe the head of this Agency needs to be replaced with someone with more integrity .... And also the people that have the job of inspecting locally, if there being a lazy, or corrupt.... Just because you work for the government doesn't mean you do the minimum to get by....

Well that's enough for today.... Hope everyone has a great day.... And smile!!

Trumps Promises....

1. Build a wall along the southern border that's taller than the arenas where Trump holds his rallies, taller than any ladder and one foot taller than the Great Wall of China. This "artistically beautiful" wall will be constructed out of hardened concrete, re bar and steel, and it will be "the greatest wall that you've ever seen" -- so great that the nation will likely one day name it "The Trump Wall."

O.K.   So this may not be the first in a long list of promises,  but we'll start here..... The common theme in Trumps promises are to spout off what he will do, but not tell us how he's going to accomplish this....

You can't just take peoples money, which was one way he said he was going to do this.... by taking Mexicans paychecks....who are working in the U.S.   You can't just do this....

People don't you understand, some doors you don't want opened?  Once they are cracked, it's so easy to kick them in.  Most of the Mexicans haven't committed a crime, other than wanting a better life for their family.  And the vast majority take jobs none of us, as Americans want to do... I mean seriously how many of you want to pick produce from a field?  How many of you want to be a housemaid??

Do any of you know of any other reasonable/rational ways Trump has said he is going to get this done?  Please enlighten me.... :)

Oh, also sounds a bit egotistical to me.... Like he's a dictator or something.....

Sunday, July 24, 2016

I'm so tired of the lies.... and condemnation that goes on.... and I'm sure with all my heart it's the republicans doing..... because they wouldn't be able to win with out slandering other candidates rather than telling us why we should pick you..... and not just "I'm gonna make america great again" I want to know how they plan on doing this..... some detail please :)
So far I have heard 3 or 4 things they keep harping on about Hillary..... and hundreds of things about Trump.... The Republicans are so busy trying to win, rather than doing what's best for the country.... This our lives people, not a football game....
I'm not saying Hillary is the best person either, but I sure as heck am not gonna worry about being Nuked in the middle of the night, if she was president .... Trump is gonna open his mouth, or rather he already has with his hate rhetoric ... now our newly created enemy's are waiting to see if we're stupid enough to elect the idiot.... then they will know for sure America has gone off the rails....
What got me started on this was the picture of the Obama's saluting the Flag with the wrong hand.... I knew that would never happen naturally.... and turns out someone had nothing better to do one night and so they decided to occupy their time with stirring up shit with Photo Shop ..... Such is the world today.... People are so bored that they have to get attention causing trouble.....
Talking about your President the way people do these days is akin to airing your dirty laundry to your neighbors....  The U.S. is our house.... and other countries are our neighbors..... would you give your neighbors ammunition to cause trouble in your life??  Well we certainly have been... We need to clean our house the right way.... not use a big ol' fan to blow the dirt all over the neighbors yards so they can pick through our trash.... then come up with an off the wall reason why we don't deserve our house!!
I could go on and on.... anyone else want to add some stuff?? Something that might give me more information to work with, so I can make an informed decision for President, rather than an emotional one.....
Intelligently please, not just hate speech, because that just shows how we have truly failed our children as far as their education is concerned.. Thank you, have a great day :)
